About a half-hour’s drive south of Franklin you’ll find the self-described “amazing Saturday afternoon farmers market right here in Spring Hill, TN.”  Some of the goods on offer include farm fresh vegetables and fruit, eggs, beef / pork / chicken / fish, baked goods, food trucks, pizza, and natural soaps.

4. NASHVILLE FLEA MARKET

Founded in 1969, the Nashville Flea Market has been in operation for almost 60 consecutive years and is considered one of the top ten flea markets in the country. Approximately 800 to 1200 dealers and vendors come from 30 states with too many types of items to list, including antique furniture, dishware, knickknacks, specialty foods, boutique clothing, paper goods, yard art and more. The selection is endless and the finds are superbly unique.

Founded in the early 1800s, the year-round Market includes two covered open-air sheds, a 24,000 square-foot garden center, a “culinary incubation center” and international food hall that includes some 20 restaurants and shops. Head on over on June 17 for the Peach Jam Festival to enjoy peach drinks, live music, a peach cobbler contest, peach-themed crafts and specialty foods and more!

On the other hand, if you’re in the southern part of town, you can spend your Tuesday afternoon at the 12 South Farmers Market in Sevier Park. Their mission, they tell us, is “to celebrate the deeply rooted agricultural & creative way of life in Tennessee, by bringing the best locally grown produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, and much more to the neighborhood, all in a fun, family friendly, environment.”

8. AMQUI STATION FARMERS MARKET

This one’s a two-fer: you can visit history and pick up some tasty souvenirs at the same time. The Amqui Station Farmers Market is held at a historic train station that was saved from demolition by Johnny Cash himself. The market offers fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and related agricultural products.
