Home projects can feel daunting and easily consume a lot of time, not to mention a large budget. That’s why we love incorporating accent walls. They can be easy projects for just about any room in your home.

Should you paint? Add wallpaper? There are a lot of ways to create an accent wall—here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

1. Incorporate Texture

We’ve mentioned before, but we love a good pairing of color and texture. For example, this deep green hue and vertical panels are match made in heaven!

2. Be Matchy-Matchy

If you’re not sure where to start with an accent wall, gather some inspiration by looking around the room! Try coordinating with a piece of art, your favorite piece of furniture, or even a throw blanket or a pillow on your couch.

3. Bring Back Wallpaper

If you’re a little apprehensive when it comes to wallpaper, you’re not alone! Tacky wallpaper was a staple of the 80s and 90s, but we’re here to let you know that it’s safe to get back in the water!

Wallpaper can be an incredible way to create an accent wall—just avoid overly busy patterns and find one that feels like a classic that you’ll love for years to come!

4. Embrace Nature

Sure, the reclaimed wood has been a little overdone thanks to Chip and Joanna Gaines. But incorporating wood textures or panels can be a wonderful way to bring some dimension to a room with lots of white space.

So there you have it! We hope you’ve gained a fresh appreciation for accent walls and the character they can add to your home.
