We’re quickly approaching the summer months (finally!) and Memorial Day is just around the corner.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there may be a more limited selection compared to other years, however, there are still plenty of options for having fun with your family and friends over the holiday weekend!
1. Honor The fallen at The Nashville National Cemetery
Every Memorial Day, The Nashville National Cemetery honors veterans and welcomes community members to visit the cemetery to honor those who have fallen. The cemetery is located in Madison at 1420 Gallatin Pike Street. Learn more here.
2. Jazz at Arrington Vineyard
Visit Arrington Memorial Day weekend and you’ll be able to pair fabulous wine with incredible live jazz. Is there any better way to spend a warm almost-summer night? Learn more here.
3. Head to the Drive-In Theater
A night at the drive-in is always a great go-to outing, whether you’re going solo or with your entire family! The Stardust in Watertown, Tennessee, is open Friday through Sunday and has plenty of space for social distancing. Check out their website for more info.
4. Run the Memorial Day Classic
Stretch your legs and run The Memorial Day Classic on May 31st in Hendersonville, Tennessee. This is a great event for the most novice runner — they have a 1-mile run, along with a 5K and 10K route. Learn more here.
5. Take it easy in the backyard
Gather some friends and family for a BBQ or backyard picnic. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the weekend if you want to keep it a bit more low-key.
