TENNESSEE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL – WEEKENDS IN MAY

Time travel, anyone? Every weekend this month (plus Memorial Day), 16th-century England is as close as Arrington, TN. The Tennessee Renaissance Festival is packed with knights, ladies, pirates, jesters, magicians and more. Cheer for your champion at the jousting, feast on delicious food, shop exceptional wares from talented artisans and have a merry old time. Times, tickets and more.
83RD ANNUAL MIDDLE TENNESSEE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL – MAY 10-11

You’re in for a sweet time at this action-packed weekend in Portland, TN celebrating all things strawberry. Friday night offers a free Strawberry Jam Concert & Fireworks starting at 5:00 PM. The Main Festival Day on Saturday starts with a pancake breakfast at 7:00 AM, followed by a 5k, live music, magic show, carnival—and LOTS of strawberries (while they last). Learn more.
NASHVILLE WATER LANTERN FESTIVAL – MAY 11

As the sun begins to set over the Parthenon at Centennial Park, your unique lantern will join others drifting on the water, carrying hope, love, happiness, healing, and connection. Each adult ticket comes with a floating lantern kit and LED candle, a commemorative drawstring bag and more. Enjoy visiting food trucks and vendors, decorating lanterns, playing corn hole, or just relax and listen to the music. Ticket prices cover the cost of cleanup and support the mission of Water.org in helping to provide safe water and sanitation to families around the world. KILGORE STATION BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL – MAY 17-18

Love bluegrass? Then you’ll want to head over to Cross Plains, TN May 17-18. Friday night starts with a junior fiddle contest, followed by a barn dance and fish fry. Saturday kicks off at 11:00 AM with concerts throughout the day. It all happens in Kilgore Park, one of the most beautiful outdoor concert venues in Tennessee. Tickets are just $10 for both days, kids 12 and under FREE. Scope out the lineup and other details here.
MIDDLE TN CORNBREAD FESTIVAL – MAY 18, 2024

Grab your cornbread-lovin’ friends and fam and head to Smithville to celebrate all things cornbread. The 4th annual festival promises “80+ artisans, boutiques, food trucks, face painting, & TONS of CORNBREAD options with ALL of the food vendors!” Wonder if you need to bring your own butter? Probably not. Admission and parking are free for this family-friendly event. Saturday, May 18, 2024, 10 AM – 4 PM in Smithville, TN. Learn more.
