The birthday of the United States is always an occasion, but this Fourth of July is extra-special. After all, it’s not every year you turn two hundred and fifty! Star-spangled celebrations are scheduled across the US. Here are a few taking place in and around ProTek’s hometown of Franklin, Tennessee.

FRANKLIN ON THE FOURTH – FRANKLIN

When you want an event that has something for everyone in the family—even the furry kids—look no further than Franklin on the Fourth. This patriotic festival, held in historic downtown Franklin, includes art, crafts, food, music, free games and a special place for pets, to name just a few.

But wait, there’s more! As the day draws to a close, the party moves just down the road to The Park at Harlinsdale Farm for an incredible fireworks display. Gates open at 5 PM. While you wait for it to get dark, enjoy live music, a kids’ area with family-friendly games and crafts, beer and wine tents, and a variety of food trucks. Bring lawn chairs and blankets and settle back to enjoy the show. Plan your day.

A Revolutionary War color guard will present the colors and fire their muskets before a concert from The Downtown Band in the Contemporary Era. Of course, there will be fireworks! It all kicks off at 5 PM at Crockett Park. See the schedule.

The Declaration of Independence reads, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…” but throughout our history, “all” didn’t always mean all. Take a walk through the decades-long struggle over the very meaning of equality. Offered nowhere else in Tennessee, this tour tells the story of the United States from its founding to the Civil War. A thoughtful way to begin or end your holiday weekend, tours are 9 AM Friday 7/3 and Monday 7/6. Book your tour.

However you choose to celebrate the holiday, have a safe and happy Fourth!
