Fall is a wonderful time to be in Middle Tennessee! There is so much to see and do that we couldn’t possibly list it all. Instead, we’re highlighting a few options you might have missed that sound like fun to us. Enjoy!
GEOCACHING AT THE FARM – FRANKLIN

Take the family on a treasure hunt! Use your smartphone to find caches (aka treasure!) hidden around Stoney Creek Farm. Geocaching newbies are welcome—instructions will be provided and staff will be on hand to answer questions. After the hike, kids can also go feed the goats and walk around the farm/play on the swing set. Parents/grandparents are welcome to bring a lunch and enjoy time outdoors on the farm. BEER QUEST WITH JACKALOPE BREWING CO. – BRENTWOOD

If geocaching sounds like fun but your idea of treasure is something more adult (and liquid), leave the kids at home and head to Beer Quest VI. Find all six tokens using a map or GPS, then exchange them for a flight of beer and a pizza. All tickets include admission, beer, and food truck meal combo. Saturday, September 17 at 4 PM (team competition) or 5 PM (individuals). Must be 21 or older. Details here.
DESIGN YOUR OWN CHOCOLATE BAR – NASHVILLE

Calling all chocolate lovers! The Goo Goo Chocolate Co. is a must-visit for sweet treats, a little history, and the chance to design, make—and eat!—your very own candy bar. Choose one of the Chocolate Experiences or walk up to a Design Your Own kiosk to design your creation then watch chocolatiers build it in front of your eyes at the Chocolate Bar. BATTY FOR BATS CLASS – BRENTWOOD

Get batty at Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary and celebrate everyone’s favorite nocturnal flying mammal. Owl’s Hill is teaming up with The Nature Conservancy for this Saturday morning event. Registration is for groups of two who will enjoy a special presentation about bats before teaming up to build a bat box to take home. September 9 from 10 AM – Noon. Learn more and register.
CANOPY CHALLENGE COURSE – FALL CREEK STATE PARK

This one is a bit of a drive, but totally worth it for 2.5 hours of zip-riding, heart-pounding, bridge-crossing, breath-taking, tree-climbing, eco-friendly, unforgettable fun! Following thorough instruction at Ground School, you will be let loose to explore six different routes ranging from serene to extreme. Options available for children as young as four years of age to active seniors in moderate to good health. Advance reservations recommended. Tickets and info here.
